Cetona

CETONA – 2km/7min. driving

Cetona is in the extreme southern spur located in the province of Siena, and then in the last area of palms that separate Tuscany from Umbria and Lazio, which are really “one step” far. But without suffering the slightest cultural influences of these two regions, its urban physiognomy is that of a small Tuscan village with his features drawn in stone and terracotta. One aspect that stands out even more standing out against the green woods of Mount Cetona, which is the fifth in the country.

For its environment that still intact to these days, the Touring Club Italy granted to Cetona able to boast of the “Orange Flag” and the ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) has entered Cetona into the category of “most beautiful villages in Italy”. And beautiful is the entire territory with a corollary of other towns-jewel like Pienza, Montepulciano, Sarteano, Chiusi. At a handful of kilometers from the Chiusi-Chianciano of the A1 highway, Cetona is also close to the train station located on the Florence-Rome route, cities which are about an hour and a half drive. And within an hour’s journey there are Siena, Perugia, Arezzo, Assisi, Orvieto so Cetona acts as the ideal base to know an area that has so much to offer.
